David Haward Associates, Chartered Architects, providing architectural design, renovation work, planning, building, surveying, structural services, and building dispute negotiation in Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire Coast National Park areas from its two west wales offices.
Since the formation of the practice in 1988 we have carried out projects in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and in England, mainly in the Home Counties. The Practice has earned a reputation for being successful on difficult projects within Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority and as a result have become a National Parks specialist with commissions in Dartmoor and New Forest National Parks.
We do not have a design style. Each project is designed to meet the clients’ brief, whilst respecting the building’s vernacular style and creating an elegant solution which maximises both the clients’ budget and the building’s potential.
Being based in West Wales, the majority of our projects are working on older buildings of traditional construction that have their own unique defects and limitations. As a result, we have built up an extensive knowledge of solutions which bring a building up to current standards in terms of heating, insulation and running costs.
Not all our projects involve older properties, with the increase in property values we also receive instruction on late 20 century projects which can be a little bland and dated in appearance. This gives an opportunity to not only bring the building up to current standards but to create a ‘wow factor’ which gives a unique quality to each individual project.
